raking leaves? the beat builds up nicely, I can hear nice cymbals and sounds, has a very retro, synthy flavour, which seems quite popular in Newgrounds! I like how the song slightly calms down before the finale. a song perfect or chilling and vibing. thanks for sharing!

feels like just chilling by the N64 with pizza, friends and beer. the ending was a bit abrupt but I can see this is meant a loop.
have you tried using compression, limiter, saturation and reverb? they help add even more depth and weight to audio and all come in many free versions. Borealis Lite by MNDALA 2 is an awesome free reverb plugin, it can make your music sound gigantic or subtly wobbly.

slowly synthy, retro fear, definitely feels like playing through a vampiric dungeon!

what a pleasant song! the introductory notes work perfectly. feels optimistic and pleasing, like playing a kids' game. thanks for sharing!

depression disco? never heard of that before! the lyrics are comically unhappy, a strange blend of humour and lonliness, no idea how that was pulled off but it was! 0.o
how do I rate this with the appropriate expression from the guy to the right? if I make him look happy, doesnt that make me a sadist? what do I do? XD
thanks for sharing this unique idea even though I'm five years late only!

I think you just summarized what BIG KILL is all about
finding joy in the unhappy

sounds very 80s! the retro synth vibes are iconic, mixed with that vibing feel. the slight raspy audio gives it that old saturated effect, too. thanks for sharing!

EdKempeper responds:

Hi ! Thank you very much for this very detailed review ! Yes, I listenned to some dungeon synth and other song like "Hide" by Dorian Concept recently so it inspired me.

i like how it starts with walking sounds, leading up to the music. lots of vibes, sounds, synth, beats and risers, but the piano and cinematic touches with the naturalistic sounds makes it stand out. the mix of synth and nature worked well.

very pleasant, groovy song! the instruments are a bit muddy though that is its style, so can't really criticize that. the upbeat, optimistic vibes induces that lovely eagerness the youth have, so keep vibing!

Starcat responds:

Thanks! jonathan I'm glad you felt those optimistic vibes. The instrument balance is an interesting point—maybe I'll tweak it a bit in future mixes. I really appreciate your comment!

even feels like something from an actual anime girl! XD too cute
You used Ableton? Nice! I use Cubase. thanks for sharing! wishing you the best in your musical journeys!

girlinthemirror responds:

Thank you so much for listening to my song! Wishing you the best too!

sounds very synthy! feels like Diddy Kong Racing or some other enjoyable game, the upbeat and optimistic rise sounds triumphant! i like the length, too, and how the song descends a bit for the last min gives it that dynamic feel.
